In Class 8, when asked what he wanted to become, he wrote a single word: Farmer.

It was never just an ambition. It was who he was.

Raised in Haryana on farmland his family had worked for generations, Lalit grew up understanding the rhythms of the land through lived experience — seasons, soil, harvests, failures, and patience.

Farming was not something separate from life. It was life.

But like many, his journey first took him elsewhere.

He later trained as a biomedical engineer and went on to work across large-scale global systems, where he developed a deep understanding of operations, problem-solving, and how disciplined processes shape trust at scale.

That rare combination of farming instinct and engineering discipline continues to shape how Farmili works today.

Still, the farmer in him never disappeared.

Years later, that instinct returned in a quiet moment at home.

Mili placed a lab report in front of him — one that revealed what was really present in the mustard oil sitting in their own kitchen.

Today, Lalit leads Farmili’s sourcing, farming relationships, seed selection, and on-ground agricultural operations.

He works directly with farmers and fields across Haryana, ensuring that every product begins with the same care and accountability that he grew up believing food should carry.
